Battery service is the only MacBook repair Apple prices up front — screen, enclosure and liquid damage are quoted by the service provider after inspecting the machine, so this is the one Mac repair you can budget for in advance. The price tracks the line and the screen size: a 13-inch MacBook Air is the cheapest, a 16-inch MacBook Pro the dearest. Apple treats a maximum capacity below 80% as the threshold for service; check it under System Settings, then Battery. The battery is not swapped in isolation — Apple services the machine as a whole unit, and the estimate is the complete service price with only tax added on top. With AppleCare+ active, battery service below that 80% threshold carries no charge.
