AirPods Battery Replacement Cost in the United States
Apple US charges between $49 and $79 for AirPods battery service out of warranty, from $49 on the AirPods Pro 3 to $79 on the AirPods Max 2. With AppleCare+ the same repair costs $0. These are Apple's published estimates for 15 models in Apple's AirPods range, effective 8 August 2026, in USD and excluding taxes.

- From $49
- Up to $79
- AppleCare+ from $0
AirPods batteries are not user-replaceable and no third-party cell is fitted: Apple services the unit itself, so the estimate is a complete service price with only tax added on top. The in-ear models share one price across every generation; AirPods Max, being over-ear with a much larger cell, costs more. Note that the fee covers the earbuds — a charging case whose own battery has failed is handled under the case replacement price instead. With AppleCare+ active, battery service carries no charge once maximum capacity has fallen below 80%.
